July 8 - 12

GRADES 1-4 @10-12PM ($75)
Intro to the Elements of Art, the Figure & Gesture
with Amanda Cross:
Students will learn the elements of art, explore different ways of representing the human figure and gain understanding and skill in expressing gesture. Throughout the course students will experiment with 2D and 3D representations using a variety of media including clay, charcoal, collage, pastels, paint, and wire sculptures.

GRADES 5-8 @1-4PM ($100)
“En Plein Air”
with Rebecca Krueger:
Plein Air is a French expression that means “in the open air.” It is used by artists to describe the art of outdoor painting, capturing landscapes and views in the natural light. Students in this session will explore this technique, learning about the use of color and texture in natural light. Weather permitting, students will be painting outdoors! In case of inclement weather, we will bring the outdoors inside!

August 5 - 9

GRADES 1-4 @10-12PM ($75)
with Rebecca Krueger:
During this session, students will explore all things COLOR! Fluid painting, watercolors, pastels, and more. All techniques and projects created will engage students through the use of color. Color theory and and the spectrum of light will be our focus.

GRADES 5-8 @1-4PM ($100)
Intro to the Elements of Art and the Process of Making with Naomi RaMona Schliesman: Students will learn the elements of art and the process of making 2D and 3D artwork. They will explore different ways of using a variety of materials, and will gain an understanding and new skill sets in the process of making a plaster mold, a fiber art piece, an abstract painting, a collaborative installation piece and more.
