Sculpting a Story w/ Blayze Buseth Location: Creation Shop Cost: $150 (all supplies included) Join local ceramic artist and owner of Creation Shop, Blayze Buseth, in Sculpting a Story! This series of workshops is created for students grades 5-8 to explore hand-building uninterrupted. Students will begin with the basics of pinch pottery, forming characters, and small clay homes. They will then have a chance to paint their works or choose studio glazes for their creations. (Students will be encouraged to maintain a narrative about their creations where they will have the opportunity to assemble a story and share it with a group of young artists.) |

Session 2: July 29 - Aug 2 from 1pm - 4pm Mixed Media w/ Naomi Schliesman Location: Kaddatz Galleries Cost: $150 (all supplies included) Join local artist Naomi Schliesman for a week of Mixed Media! In this session, students will learn 2D and 3D elements of design, vocabulary and technical skills with hands-on problem solving. They will explore different ways of using a variety of materials, such as acrylic paint, watercolor paint, mold making with casting, colored pencils, printmaking and mixed media with art movements and artists as examples. Students will gain an understanding of new skill sets in the process of creating drawings in personal sketchbooks, a Surrealist self-portrait, abstract drawings and paintings, birds eye view of watercolor landscapes, and mixed media 2D collages and 3D sculptures. |
