The mission of the Kaddatz Galleries is to foster visual arts education and appreciation and to maintain a gallery that celebrates the work of area artists and honors the legacy of Charles Beck.
Visual art lovers in Fergus Falls had long wished for a place to showcase & celebrate the artists living and working in west central Minnesota. So, in 2008, local art enthusiasts formed a Board of Directors, incorporated as a nonprofit, and, together with the nonprofit Artspace, remodeled part of the main floor of the old Kaddatz Hotel. The Kaddatz Galleries opened its doors in 2009.

There is never any charge to enter the gallery, and all are welcome. The main gallery continually features a rotating selection of work by regional artists, as well as a focused exhibition that changes every seven weeks. Each exhibition has an accompanying reception with the opportunity for the artist to meet the public.
The first exhibition in the gallery featured the work of Charles Beck, the local artist whose work interpreting Minnesota landscapes earned him the widespread respect of artists and collectors. Beck’s work is on exhibit and for sale at the gallery year round. In 2015, the Kaddatz Galleries opened Studio K, a secondary gallery and community meeting space meant to display smaller or more experimental bodies of work by established and emerging artists. Studio K also houses the Kaddatz Galleries’ nonlending art library, a fantastic resource for artists and lifelong learners.
The Kaddatz Galleries is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charity under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. |
